Charity Jockey Football Day

Annual Charity Jump Jockeys Football Match 14th October 2007 The annual match between the Arena Leisure Southern Jockeys and the Ladbrokes Northern Jockeys, originally scheduled to be played after racing at Worcester on Sunday 9th September, had to be postponed following the abandonment of the Worcester fixture due to damage sustained to the track during the summer floods. We are delighted to announce that the football match will now take place on Sunday 14th October at the Pegasus Juniors FC ground in Hereford. Kick off will be at 3pm with gates opening and bar/refreshments available from 1.30 pm. The day is sponsored by Cotswold BMW Hereford, whose support is very much appreciated. At the request of the Jockeys themselves, the day is in aid of Liverpool based, Alder Hey Childrens Hospital Imagine Appeal. Jayne Hauxwell, Senior Fund Raising Manager comments: The Imagine Appeal is privileged to enjoy a long standing relationship with the racing industry and we greatly value the wonderful, loyal support we receive. The jockeys in particular, have shown such a heart warming enthusiasm to help us with our charity, and their visits to the hospital are loved by both children and staff. We would be very grateful if you could support them in their fundraising efforts for the Imagine Appeal on 14th October. Extra fund raising activities will include a raffle, and an auction of unique sporting and other memorabilia after the game. Admission and programme will be £5 per adult and £1 per child under 16.
